THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND.

I don't remember the last time I had the best time on a Friday night. My pal Liz and I finally got together after a long hiatus and the evening got me thinking...  What, for real, is the definition of a friend.

friend

/frend/

Noun A person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection, typically exclusive of sexual or family relations. Synonyms pal - mate - chum - buddy - comrade - fellow - companion

I just wanted to shout out all my friends out there, you know who you are. I take so much for granted daily and sometimes I'm reminded to stop and reflect.  Tonight, hanging out and just chatting, made me realize that this type of interaction is vital to my being and in a special way, relaxing.

Good friends really are a dime a dozen and as the years pass by I feel such joy and comfort.  My friends are special and are wonderful.  My friends know how to make me laugh and know what I like.  My friends are 'my friends' and I just want to say thanks.  I hope you know how much I appreciate you and merci, danke.

I hope that all of you have friendships with special people who make you happy.  Maybe you should remind them how much they mean to you more often.  That's the fresh perspective...

I went for a late dinner with some old friends last night and what a great night.  Almost felt like a teeny tiny re-charge.  Just talking out our life concerns, wishes, hopes and confusions over amazing food felt like I had my battery re-charged.  We covered so many topics and had each other hanging on our own words.  Each one of us had a chance to tell their current story and yet as different as the stories were, they somehow bridged the time we had missed in each others lives.  The three of us have very different lives and lifestyles but we managed to take the time to get together and pump each other up a bit.   Just a little poem-

Old/New Life

The conversations are sometimes muddled,

For we all speak in excitement.

Desperately trying to learn each other again in the short time spent.

Real friendships almost never have an end.

Well, that's the fresh perspective...  Until we meet again.
