Feet on ground...

freshairboutique

I must say, I had a pretty decent weekend so far.  I went out yesterday and did some much-needed summer shopping for the ladies.  On my way to said task, I broke my shoe.  Not the kind of 'break' that you can fake and still wear either.  I had to throw them out. Un-wearable!!

I had about three other stores to go to and for me to go home to get a new pair was out of the question.  I had to go to Old Navy for the ladies and I remembered that they have cheap flip flops.  Do you want to know what I did?  I walked from my car, into the store, up to the first Old Navy face I saw and asked where the flippy floppies were.  All of this done while I was barefoot!!  Can you believe it?!!  I walked outside and into a public store sans shoes!!  It was so weird and yet so liberating.  I battled with myself all the way over to the store thinking, 'you really gonna do this? you really gonna put your pedicured  feet on the asphalt and then on the grody cement? really Praise?'  Answer.  Yes.  Yes I did, and I got so much done.

Here's to not letting my stupid insecurities keep me from getting stuff done.  By the way, I got the best white 'mens' shirts for the ladies in my shopping extravaganza.  I'm glad I got it done and my shoes, RIP.  You gals had served me well and seen my feet through many a dance party, errands, work shifts and all the other stuff shoes do for you.  You will be missed...

Peace

My sunshine has come...

Oh my Lord above the earth!!!! It's been too long!!!! I've been so busy!!!!  Unfortunately the only way you can feel my exasperation is through the use of flagrant exclamation marks!!!! Aaaaaargh!!!!

I've been thinking about what to write and in my last post I was going to tell you about my 'discovery'.  Well.  It's on hold.  Nothing has been discovered yet except that my sunshine has come.  This Friday will be my first evening home in almost 23 days.  Can you believe it!!!! Well. Believe it.  It's the honest truth...

I've been feeling so run down lately and June (my sunshine) has arrived.  So much went down in May...  To give you an idea I will go through my month in point form (if you don't care, skip to the bottom):

- 1/2 marathon

-massage (cause of the marathon)

-art show

-dinner plans

-teeth cleaning

-breakfast meeting

-color class

-nail appointment

-staff meeting

-bank appointment (shout out to RBC)

-dinner meeting

-IIF lunch

-birthday party

-may long party

-FNL

-glamour party

-Otito's party

-U2

-Lauryn Hill (sort of)

-book club

Hmmm... this list didn't really work like I thought it would...(thought it would show my hard working self...).  It looks like I just love to attend 'parties'.  In my defense, not all of the parties were 'Praise just attending'...  Some parties did require some work, OK two parties...

Anyways, my June calendar as it stands is going to be more open so I could lounge, rest, and chill with my man and the ladies.  We are planning a little family holiday and I am counting down the days till the real sunshine.

Peace

Here we go...

This past weekend was the long weekend and to begin my summer experience I went to a few parties, planned a child's party, and discovered a little something about myself.  (Stay tuned for my discovery, I'll probably reveal it after next weekend...maybe.)  It was lovely and very busy.  Summer is almost here and I would like to commemorate her with this poem:

Summer makes ya dumber

In April the sky was hazy. May was spent with my eyes gazing at the light of June rushing towards my face for you see that month was a special case for me, and for those who wonder why would a guy like me need sweet July. There's no reason, or maybe it's just that I need a little time to clean the dust that's been covering my face since October and kept me so straight-faced and sober. So til September rolls around I'll lay and relish the lovely sound of my leisure that shall soon be drowned when August is lowered underground.

Ha! I like how at the end he refers to August being the 'end'...so tragic... I wish Winnipeg had summers for more than two/three months... Hope your long weekend was fantastic!!
Peace
