Friday Kits...

freshairboutique

I've been compiling my Friday outfits for a few years now and thought I should share some with you.  If you follow us on twitter, Instagram or Facebook you will notice that Fridays are when I post a wee bit more about myself... Namely the clothes on my body, the style of my hair or the expression of my face (the face thing is new... I'm trying something out on Facebook...) Friday's face... (only on Facebook)

Here are five images of  my Friday kits, in no particular order and for no specific reason, except for I think I really nailed these!!  Ha!  Enjoy!

I love my hair in this one, and the men's shirt?! Get outta here!

Simple t-shirt... Simple.

The top-knot and blazer here is perfect. The hoops are a nice touch as well.

Color! I love the colors and the Tony Chestnut scarf.

This one is so funny. I love it because of my Reebok pumps.... Also I think the cardi and the men's shirt are the same as the first image!

Well there are a few of my outfits.  I know it seems a bit high and mighty of myself to post these but the jig is up, I'm a a stylist.  I work in the hair and beauty industry.  Fashion is a large part of what we do everyday and I enjoy dressing myself (for the most part).  I think the key is to know yourself, your body type, and your age.  At the same time, don't take it too seriously.  They're just clothes.  I don't let my clothes define me, I use them to express myself, along with my hair, make-up and accessories.

Take pride in your wardrobe and your style.  It's what can add to making you that much more unique!

Peace

I'm embarking on an experiment...follow me.

Li Lash photoSo I'm aging everyday and I'm noticing my lashes thinning out.  They used to be way fuller and a bit longer as well.  I'm going to try this Li Lash purified eyelash serum every night for three months.  I'm putting myself out there for you guys.  If it works, I will be very happy that my lashes are back!  If it doesn't work, you will know and will keep searching for lash plumping products.  If I get a violent rash (I won't) you will also know...

I'm posting these photos to show you the journey.  I am not wearing any mascara at all.  In four weeks I'll post some more, then four weeks from then and so on.  When I received the product it came with a pamphlet that showed a brow booster as well.  Well lucky me!  The nineties have left me with the most feeble of brows - over-tweezers unite!  I'm putting this stuff on my brows as well (I feel like it can't hurt) so I included them in the images.

photo 1photo 2Okay.  Good luck to me.  If any of you have heard ANYTHING about this product please comment and let me know.  I would appreciate any bit of advice.  Till next time...

Peace

new-year-res-4Happy New Year jokers!!  As per usual, everyone has a subconscious list of all the things they would like to do better in the new year.  We all have an internal collection of the things we didn't accomplish and want another crack at.  Is that bad?  I don't think so...

Start-again-new-beginning-picture-quoteIt's the same type of feeling you have when you wake up in the morning.  It's a new beginning, it's a fresh start.  Yesterday you didn't get the laundry done.  Today, you will.  Just a part of being human.  I have heard so many people say, "why wait till the new year to try to be better?", "new years resolutions suck, and are stupid.  be better all year round...".  Really??

tumblr_mysfyskeRe1sg08xxo1_500I can't say I totally agree because I think it's in our innate nature to 'want'...  We want more money, more time, more, everything.  Just like I said before, whenever I wake up, the new day (and the new sun) makes me think of a list of things that I would like to accomplish.  Even if it just the laundry, I'm positive that those types of small goals are just as life changing as the big ones we make on the first of every January.

uruz-4And besides, laundry is sort of a big deal, I mean, I post my outfits on Fridays so there's that...

LONG HAIRED BOYS 972e37dad505f60f94b970f77baf1be9Boys with hair.  Long hair.  What's your opinion on a long-haired style?  There are a few men out there that grow their hair and take very good care of it.  I, for one, love a man with long hair.  Especially if it's healthy, maintained and flattering to the host.

tumblr_mi6a65NHVg1s5jejuo1_1280How many of you guys have tried to grow your hair?  Was it easy?  What did you like about it? Hated it?  Having more hair just means there's a bit more to take care of.  You need some more products and a little more time.

tumblr_mi6abhrOwP1s5jejuo1_1280What about the top-knot?!  Boys, this is amazing!  If you're a long-haired boy, maybe this is something you should try.  It's very easy and a great way to keep your hair out of the way.  I think it's unfair that long hair on men is looked down upon.  It's not JUST for the girls.  It's just hair and if a boy wants it super long, that shouldn't make him less of a man.  It's just hair, long hair...

tumblr_mkp66mXWhy1qkt26uo1_1280Like I always say, and will say till I can no longer speak, "there's nothing wrong with trying something new."  Maybe your hair would look great long?  Maybe ask your stylist if your hair would be manageable at a longer length?  It might be something that could really work.  It also could be awful.  That's the fresh perspective...

DIVERSION IMG_0350

A few days ago I saw a product we carry in the salon, at my local Shopper's Drug Mart! What?!  Well, many salon grade products end up in discount stores and random retail outlets.  It happens.  What now?  I preach about how great it is to purchase your products from local suppliers (like us) and unfortunately the prices are sometimes higher.  Supporting a private small business over a conglomerate can be quite expensive.

I can understand why someone would purchase their salon grade products at Winners, or even Shopper's because the price is so right!  I was at Superstore on the weekend and found that a liter of TRESemmé was $3.98!  You serious?!  We sell smaller bottles of shampoo that cost over $25! I feel like we can't compete with prices like that but we can at least hang our hats on the fact that we know what we sell is good for you and your hair.

If you can find that salon grade product at Winners or your local discount spot, what can anyone say?  Do what you need to do.  That's the fresh perspective...
